Seong Dae Geun, CEO Of The Korea Institute For Education & Evaluation Advancement, said he attended a special meeting with former ministers of the Ministry of Economy and Finance held by the Federation of Korean Industries (KEF) on the 9th.

The special talks held by the Federation of Korean Industries (Jeon Kyung-ryeon) were arranged as a venue to invite former finance ministers and share special talks under the theme of "economic policy direction desired by the new government."

Starting with the opening speech of the FKI Chairman Huh Chang-soo, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choo Kyung-ho, Kwon Tae-shin, vice chairman of the FKI, and five ministers representing previous administrations, including Kang Man-soo, Yoon Jeung-hyun, Park Jae-wan, Hyun Oh-seok, and Yoo Il-ho, were invited to provide policy advice.

Discussions were held on various topics such as resolving the problem of private education and housing prices with low birth rates, resolving rigid labor markets, joining regional economic alliances, and the need for a sustainable fiscal policy, proposing a referendum on pension reform, integrated management of diplomacy and economy, and unexpected supply.

Seong Dae Geun, CEO Of The Korea Institute For Education & Evaluation Advancement, said, "COVID-19 has affected not only our daily lives but also various places, so it has not been resolved well two years later. The Economic Policy Direction I Want for the New Government, held by the Federation of Korean Industries, was conducted in the form of presenting problems with the current economic conditions of the Republic of Korea and suggesting solutions accordingly, he said.

"From the perspective of former ministers of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, who were at the forefront of overseeing and coordinating economic policies and establishing mid- to long-term national development strategies, I learned more about the current economic situation in Korea and the future," he said.

He added, "The Korea Institute For Education & Evaluation Advancement will continue to do its best to develop human resources and revitalize the Korean labor market and economy by supporting workers' vocational skills development training, which was mentioned in the talk, to return to the pre-COVID-19 situation."
