Centuries in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Praying for Freedom and Unification…

The World Korean Christian Council (Chairman Jeon Ki Hyun, Secretary General Shin Kwang Soo, hereinafter referred to as the Century Association) held the 36th Phnom Penh Prayer Meeting for Free and Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula at Phnom Penh Korean Church in Cambodia (Pastor Seo Byeong Do) on the 15th. "Cambodia is one of the countries with the highest proportion of Buddhists in the world, and today we will pray for freedom and peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula, but please pray together for the evangelization of Cambodia," missionary Seo Byeong-do said in a welcoming speech.

Pastor Cho Il Rae, who delivered the conglomerate, said, "Unification will be accomplished by God. We must pray and prepare according to the plan, and we believe that the time will be brought forward through our prayers today."

Afterwards, Pastor Kim Chul Hwan (P.C.K. General Assembly's dispatched Cambodian missionary, head of Tmodagali International School) gave a representative prayer, and Professor Ryu Ki Ryong (Wanglim Phnom Penh University) gave a special praise, and Pastor Cho Il-rae, the chairman of the convention, preached under the theme of "The Strongest Man (5:3~5)."

Pastor Cho Il Rae emphasized, "When the Korean church restores the essence of the gospel and fulfills its visionary mission, the barriers to the division of the Korean Peninsula will be broken down and the peace of the Lord will be served."

It was followed by a special prayer session led by Pastor Kim Kwan Jung (co-chairman of the General Assembly of Korea), Pastor Min Young Ki (PCK General Assembly send-off Cambodian missionary), Elder Lee Won (Korean Council Support Center missionary, Phnom Penh Technical School Korean language teacher), Deacon Shim Seok Jin (Phnom Penh Korean Church, professor of Royal Phnom Penh University) for "For North Korean compatriots and those suffering from war," and missionary Ryu Chang Shin (Chancellor General send-off missionary, David School kindergarten director) for "30,000 Korean missionaries and 7.5 million overseas Koreans," respectively.

Deacon Ra Young Girl (Pnom Penh Korean Church, Senior Vice President of Korea Institute for Education & Evaluation Advancement) prayed for the donation, Pastor Kim Tae-sung (Senior President of the Century), Pastor Lee Geun Hee (KWMF Secretary-General) gave a video encouragement, and Pastor Oh Chang Soo (Kiseong Pasong Missionary, Chairman of Korean Missionary in Cambodia 2023) and Pastor Lee Yoo Jin (Joint Missionary, Chairman of Phnom Penh Seonlin Church) delivered congratulatory messages.

Afterwards, he delivered a letter of appreciation to Seo Byeong Do, the chairman of the preparatory committee, and after promoting "Our Wish is Unification," he finished all the steps with the congratulations of Pastor Ham Yeng (Cambodian Presbyterian Presbyterian Church, professor of Presbyterian Theological University) after the advertisement of Pastor Shin Kwang Soo.

Pastor Shin Kwang Soo said, "I believe that God's will will give the joy of unification among the Korean Peninsula suffering from division if we pray so fiercely, and I will continue to pray in the future."

Meanwhile, in Cambodia, 95% of the population believes in Soseung Buddhism, while Christianity accounts for only 1.2% of the population. Currently, about 2,500 to 3,000 missionaries are preaching the gospel in about 3,000 churches.
