On the 16th, CEO Seong Dae Geun (Korea Institute for Education & Evaluation Advancement) proposed various educational policies to overcome the crisis of population decline and local extinction, which has recently emerged as a problem.

CEO Seong Dae Geun said, "Economy revitalization is possible only with education, and the right to lead a life for the right to live of teachers is also guaranteed only with education. To this end, improving the current educational environment is the most essential factor."

CEO Seong Dae Geun argued that it was necessary to lay the foundation for free education programs supported by the state to cultivate and strengthen local talent-centered education to improve the educational environment to prepare for a decline in the school-age population and local extinction.

In order to revitalize education, CEO Seong Dae Geun proposed the following four educational policies.

First, practice-oriented education rather than theory should be conducted.

State-funded education and NCS-based education supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor are essential. The disadvantage is that what is learned in the existing class is difficult to use in the field of practice, and there are not many opportunities to practice the technology used in the field, so it is difficult to use it in practice.

Second, we need to move toward a culture of practical education together.

Rather than education conducted only by theory, it should be a practical education that combines education and practice to establish and conduct practical measures to achieve goals such as work and goals necessary for the NCS job. Considering that it is a practice-oriented education, it is important to cooperate and educate the job process required by the actual field and the company through a close composition between the company and the consultative body.

Third, we need to set goals that are as important as education.

It is also important to organize practice-oriented education to educate and fulfill the duties required by the company, but it is also important to record and manage the rate of achievement of educational goals and the process necessary to achieve the goals. In addition, slow learners need education that considers the learner's characteristics and speed, such as providing strategic practice that links new and existing knowledge and providing additional repetition and sufficient practice time.

Fourth, we need to attract foreign students.

Currently, Korea is suffering from a population decline problem. In order to solve and revitalize the crisis in the economy and local universities that followed the problem of population decline, it is necessary to drastically organize a plan to introduce foreign students and change the strategy to attract foreign talents. Currently, Korea is the first Asian country to enter a multiracial and multicultural country, and the demand for Korean language education brought about by the Korean Wave is also increasing day by day. However, in contrast to the increasing demand for Korea, problems such as the increase in illegal immigrants continue to occur due to the difficulty of managing existing international students and workers. In order to solve various problems such as a lack of management aspects due to the low level of Korean workers, it is necessary to improve the quality of education and reorganize the education system for foreign students. Education can survive only when the number of education consumers increases, and the Korean economy can also survive only when education is revived.

CEO Seong Dae Geun, who proposed these four educational revitalization measures, has been at the lectern for decades as a computer assistant instructor since he became an adult, and gave a number of lectures under the theme of "by empathy rather than understanding" before COVID-19. Since COVID-19, he is focusing on management rather than lectures and is currently working as the CEO of Korea Institute for Education & Evaluation Advancement and the general chairman of the organizing committee of the International Korean Language Conference. In addition, he was appointed as the senior vice president of the Korean Regional University Saving Movement Headquarters in Korea in 2023, suggesting a new direction for the extinction crisis facing local universities and conducting activities to find alternatives.

CEO Seong Dae Geun said, "Since I have been teaching for decades and have been engaged in agreements with various universities across the country, I can better understand the current difficulties of universities due to the decline in the school-age population. In order to solve the current crisis in local universities, it is necessary to create a new educational environment focused on practice, not the same way as before. I hope that we can realize a better educational environment, the development of education in the Republic of Korea, and a more advanced economy of the Republic of Korea through this."
